The black paint was in a very poor condition, lucky for me it didn’t stick very well to the green paint.
I used paint remover from Alabastine, I also used acetone and thinner to remove the black paint.
One has to be very careful with the paint remover, if you leave it on the helmet to long you can wipe of all the paint at once. Before I used the paint remover on this helmet I spent time practicing the use of alabastine on other things like furniture and garden fence. I left the paint remover on the helmet just long enough to soften the black paint then I used a cloth soaked in acetone or thinner to wipe of the paint. This is a very time consuming process and it takes a lot of patience. I would spent no more than half an hour working on the helmet each time. I hope this helps.
