Here we can see the liner inside.
The suspension straps are made of cotton, woven in herringbone twill weave.
The color is almost tan so this is a late war time production.
picture 2 and 3 show the Firestone F and the number 40.
The 40 was the number of the mold used to make this helmet.
picture 4 and 5 show a print RAT KCOL, I haven't found what this stands for.
The protective finish of the A washers before 1943 was chemical coatings
and than changed to green paint because of its lower cost.
after June 1944 the A washers were made in brass with black corosion inhibitor coating.
