By far the most well-known ready part of the Regiment Limburgse Jagers was founded in 1957, the 42nd Panzerinfanterie Battalion (42 PainfBat), which was nicknamed 42nd Battalion Limburgse Jagers (42 BLJ), where many professionals, former shortage (KVV / TS / BBT) and conscripted personnel has spent his service.
42 PainfBat was stationed from 1963 to 2006 at the Seedorf camp site (Germany). Upon departure of the Battalion back to the Netherlands, a Fahnenband from the Federal Republic of Germany was attached to the Bataljonsflag. The current modern 42 PainfBat is an operational unit that is part of 13 Light Brigade. The unit has taken over the old traditions of the Regiment Infanterie Limburgse Jagers and is now stationed in the Gen. Maj. De Ruyter van Steveninck barracks in Oirschot.
